I have 20 years teaching experience, teaching in six different schools across the local area. I have been a senior leader for over 13 years across two schools with responsibilities including: leading English across the Trust, Maths, MFL, Literacy, Middle Leaders, Teaching and Learning, NQT Induction and Marking.
In 2012, I wrote and led the TKAT Initial Teacher Training programme and earnt the Teaching School Accreditation for the Trust. I have completed school to school support for the last six years in Essex, Kent and Havering.
More recently, I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead Havering Teacher Training in my local area. I have a passion for pedagogy and relish the opportunity to share my experience and vision of excellent teaching to inspire the next generation of classroom practitioners to excel in the profession that I love.
It is my job to process your application and communicate with you during the interview process. I will support you prior to start the course and communicate key information throughout your PGCE year. I am available during your professional development training days and will do my best to answer your questions and support you during your training year.
I have an MA in Education (specifically teacher training). I am one of the founding colleagues who created this provision 16 years ago when we had 16 trainees, through to last year when we had 48!!
Collectively within my career I have 30 + years in the classroom both in Secondary and Primary teaching with a large part of this experience being within the Borough of Havering. I have had responsibility as a head of house, head of Middle school (years 9 & 10) and a member of the senior leadership team in one of the Havering schools. I also have experience as a primary school class teacher responsible for year 4 and 5 pupils.
We pride ourselves on knowing our trainees and working closely with the schools that support our trainees.
My key roles include schools liaison, coordinating the Subject Leader team and working with individuals who may need additional support. I am responsible for two PGCE Subject Knowledge modules together with the Subject Leader team.
I was passionate about teaching and I am passionate about teacher training, it is the best job in the world for the right people and both are a real privilege.
I have been teaching for nearly 20 years as a Drama specialist having studied at The Central School of Speech and Drama. I have been a head of department at Hall Mead School and I am now an Academy Lead Teacher. I was awarded an M.A in Education from The University of East London and run educational research projects with staff. I joined the Management team for HTTP in September 2016 after working as a Mentor, Subject Leader and Professional Tutor on the HTTP Programme.
I have worked in Havering for almost 30 years. Previously, I have worked at Emerson Park School and Dury Falls School. I have held most posts including Head of Department, Head of Sixth Form, Professional Tutor, Assistant Head and Deputy Head Teacher. I have approximately 20 years in senior leadership, my main role being teaching and learning manager and curriculum manager.
My main teaching subject was DT, but have also taught ICT and Science. I am a trained OFSTED Inspector. My first degree and teaching qualification was from Oxford University. I also have an MA from London.
My role as Finance Manager and Administrator for HTTP means I am here to assist you with your finances, such a student loans, bursaries and School Direct payments. I also help you with such things as claiming council tax discounts, and payment of fees. I run the Visual Leaning Experience online support for students, where they can find reference materials and training materials, amongst other things, and monitor the documents supporting their evidence for verification. I also deal with admin for the application process and for the Subject Leaders.
